The Wednesday What's It

A cat can look at a cat, at a cat, at a cat...............
Is this called "One-up catship"? Now try & say THAT quickly.
Shot is of Ebony sitting in front of my computer while I try & look at a double shot of Eddie & Rufus sent to me by Sunnysidey.-

Talking 'bout Books

last week was spent reading ‘eat, pray, love’ by Elizabeth Gilbert (book club next Tuesday)
This week I have a pile to read – from the library, just begun ‘Humble Pie’ autobiography by Gordon Ramsey,
I’ve dipped into ‘Money Saving Meals’ by Phillippa Sandall & Diane Temple, two aussies, &
‘grow your own fruit & veg in plot, pots or growbags’ by Steve Ott, Emma Rawlings & Roxanne Warwick (UK so upside down seasons etc),
‘The Chocolate Lovers’ Club’ by Carole Marhews,
‘The Gardens of Covington’ by Joan Medlicott, (which I thought I had read but the library said I hadn’t. My list at home says I have!! We shall see. ).
On loan from S ‘Watching the English’ by Kate Fox (The Hidden Rules of English Behaviour),
and ‘Seeing Things’ by patti hill which arrived in my postbox & I wondered where it had come from. The post label said ‘Religious Book’ from US cost of post US$10 76 . Then I remembered it was a book to review from the Library Thing that I had put in a request for!!!
So there we have it, much to read, gardening to do, maybe some fiddling with cooking, blogs to catch up on, not to mention other stuff like ‘housework’………
Warm day today, some rain next week – good time for seeding as going into 1st quarter moon. Check here.
Watched the Emmies last night & had a laugh at a comedian who announced that utube, twitter & face book have merged & have a web site called “Youtwitface”.

Ebony wants to say "Hi".

I'm sure I don't have any yellow & blue together - although now I come to think about it, there is the wild front yard, and a jumper I don't wear much. What else.......
Oh yes, that wonderful ceramic dish that is a work of ART.
Well, fancy that!!!

'HEAT' (Can't seem to make the image bigger).

Thanks to Kyles I had a go at making a collage on Polyvore, just another time consuming activity on the computer but soooo interesting, there are some amazing images from other people.

Talking 'bout Books

‘The Time Travelers Wife’ – Excellent! Unbelievably believable! I found myself completely lost within this novel. Not sure if I would go to see it at the movies though!

Saturdays Birds

No birds again. The Galahs seem to have driven off the doves & I haven't seen many of the small birds lately.

I have begun a 'One Magic Square' garden, here is the 1st part under a weed mat.
Well that didn't work as well as I thought it would! The weeds/grass had not died when I lifted the mat up. Dug a metre yesterday & today, went to buy seeds. Couldn't find Amaranth seed. Will make this plot first, substituting mixed lettuce for Rocket as I have masses of Rocket. (Pg 27 'One Magic Square').

True Colours Thursday - GOLD

Whoops - I got it wrong again. Decided to do a 'tabletop' display for this weeks theme, so went gathering on shelves for a few things that were BRONZE. Was it just a senior moment or due to my dizzie head? Anyway.....
Sorry, Blue - will get it right next week.
If anyone wants to join in with this MEME please go here.

Todays Flowers #57

Mandevilla - Crimson Fantasy.

I have a flower in MY garden. Only put this in a few weeks ago & it's climbing higher each day, (on the wire that I put up to hide the hideous fence). It's soooo good to have a flower in my garden!

Talking 'bout Books

Currently reading & enjoying the fascinating 'The Time Traveler's Wife' by Audrey Niffenegger. 'Eat, Pray, Love' is the next book club read.

I have very much enjoyed 'The tea house on Mulberry Street' by Sharon Owens. Such a great group of characters, lots of chuckles. Highly recommended if you want a light easy read.
My next library request will be ‘Plenty’ by Gay Bilson. I watched Compass last Sunday night, for anyone who missed it & would like to watch please go here.

True Colours Thursday - PURPLE/LILAC

'Purple/Lilac' for True Colours.

Been feeling very shitty for about a week now, dizziness, nausea, head & eyes felt funny (not ha ha). Thought it was a friends driving! Went to doc on Wednesday am, high blood pressure, didn't say cause just upped the dosage of Karvea (used to lower high blood pressure, which doctors call hypertension). Told me to take it easy, so I did. Read ' the tea house on Mulberry Street' just the sort of book to curl up with on a wet & windy day when your not feeling so good. Lots of chuckles. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

Talking ‘bout BOOKS

My Friday buy from the Red X shop was 'Sarjan' by Jennifer Browne.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Falling Angels’ by Tracy Chevalier, as I am ‘Forbidden Places’ by Penny Vincenzi. Another novel set in England, this time in the 1940s, throughout the second world war. It begins with the three main female characters meeting in 1995 and then goes back to Spring 1938.

Also picked up from the library is ‘One Magic Square’ by Lolo Houbein – Grow your own food on one square metre. So this morning I got out in the sunshine & began. I am going to be digging up the grass & weeds outside the kitchen & decided to put down weed mat first, before digging (hope it works!). I gave everything else blood & bone (osmocote in the pots).

Sky Watch Fiday - Season 4 Episode 8

Taken from Foreshore Vista, Yanchep 6.15pm this evening, after playing Mah Jong.

and this was what the people living in houses viewed before the contentious so called 'board walk' was erected! Nobody wanted a 'skyway' made of bright aluminum, just a simple wooden structure meandering through the dunes, thank you very much! I like well made structures & bridges but not here in little old Yanchep.
