Shadow Shot Sunday 2

There he is!!! Pushed of his rock by the Abalone mob.
Masses of people with their plastic bags at Yanchep Lagoon this morning.

This is so nostalgic for me- My Grandfather used to tell us this poem when we were kids-

A wonderful Bird is the Pelican,
his beak can hold more than his belly can,
he can hold in his beak,
enough food for a week,
and I don't see how the Helican!

We though it was so cool he said helican!

Great Great Photo--and thanks for the memories from 50 years ago!

He looks quite lonely there on the sand! Quite out of his element! But he casts an interesting shadow shape in the sun!

He is standing so nicely for this Shadow Shot! Please explain "the Abalone mob". Why did the people have bags?? So many questions stem from your shadowy words!! Hope you had a good weekend.

He does look a bit put out to be standing there! What will people be putting in their plastic bags?

Hundreds of 'out of towners' come to take the Abalone from the reef at Yanchep. Some are very greedy & take more than they should, others have no idea what the rip can do if they loose their footing & fall in the water. See this report of last year http://www.mybeach.com.au/node/921
